Kayo Horaguchi
From Tokyo Japan.
I started out as an apparel designer worked on clothing, textile, fashion illustration, advertisements projects. Starting from 2006, I turned to focus on graphic designs and illustrations.
My main motifs evolves around colorful graphics of girls, plants and animals. Rather than focusing on a single element, I like to combine different details to convey a deeper message.
Current projects include advertisement and display window illustration designs. At the same time, by using my illustrations as a main theme, I have been collaborating with different makers to create small objects, interior, apparel accessories. Looking ahead, I would like to see how far my graphic designs can go and like to challenge many different new mediums.
I am open to discussion about commissions on different design projects.
Concept
Usual motifs evolves around colorful graphics of girls, plants and animals. Rather than focusing on a single element, I like to combine different details to convey a unique world view. In terms of style, I like to use a lot of hand sketch lines to avoid mechanical feeling of digital art. My style of illustration would soften the overall image and create a special presence in the products I create.
